Abstract

The Treng Treng Kay Kay Bridge is a 240-meter asymmetric cable-stayed bridge that connects the municipalities of Temuco and Padre Las Casas. Given its non-conventional nature, SERVIU La Araucanía Region commissioned a specialized study to provide the necessary guidelines for its inspections and maintenance, and to serve as a reference tool to technically support its planning.

To this end, specialists from Civilab UACh, ORRAMOS SL and PONTINEL SpA developed a Maintenance Manual consisting of: a detailed monograph that compiles the bridge inventory consisting of 657 cards of structural and non-structural elements; an inspection plan that establishes the frequency, type and methodology of the inspections required for each element; and a maintenance plan that defines specific activities and frequencies to maintain each element in accordance with current regulations, manufacturers' specifications, the state of the art and the existing experience of local conditions.
