Tecnovial is a manufacturer of steel solutions, including corrugated steel sheets. Tecnovial manufactures deep corrugation that provides greater resistance to compression and bending in structures such as bridges. A project was developed in the municipality of Cauquenes, Chile, using a corrugated arch with a span of 17.6 m and a height of 5.3 m. TV381 sheets with a wave modulation of 381 mm and a corrugation depth of 140 mm were used. The components, specifications, and design and assembly methodology of the bridge, which was completed in approximately two months, are detailed. The result was a sturdy and aesthetically appealing bridge with a free-flowing hydraulic section and no expansion joints, which facilitated traffic flow and generated cost savings. Tecnovial can provide comprehensive consulting services for corrugated bridge projects in Chile.
